4 Simple Ways to Kickstart Your Natural Skincare Routine

Have you been looking for a change in your skincare routine? If so, you may be interested in taking a look into natural skincare. Most people shy away from the process because of their established beauty habits. It simply becomes normal to get chemical facials at the spa while others maintain their monthly purchases for certain blemish medications. In all truth, this eats up alot of time and usually money for some.

The bottom line of natural skin care is to naturally nourish your skin without the use of chemicals. You're probably imagining yourself mashing apples to rub on your face or cutting cucumbers for your eyes. There's plenty of time for that. However, the natural portion of caring for your skin really starts on the inside of you. Here are some ways to kickstart a natural routine of skincare or even adopt these healthy principles into your existing skincare routine.

1. Drop that sugar and oily junk. Fall in love with fruit and veggies.

You know how apples keep the doctor away? Well, I heard they can keep dermatologists away, too. The nutrients found in an apple are naturally good for your skin and a source of fiber. Another skin healthy and high fiber fruit is the banana. Skin healthy? Yep - Bananas improves your metabolism and your digestion, which reduces your chances for constipation that launches an acne breakout. Other fruits like oily skin reducing tomato or the vitamin rich cucumber can be placed directly on your skin for healthy changes.

Healthy eating habits are also a great starting point for natural skincare. Oily foods and sugar rich foods are known to cause acne and need to be dumped. Add a healthy mix of nutrient rich foods like raw fruits and vegetables to your diet. These additions will help your body to get rid of toxins and produce skin that glows.

2. Bottoms Up. Drink More Water!

Water and healthy skin go together like peanut butter and jelly. You just can't have one without the other - end of story. Splashing water on your face is great and necessary, but drinking water will help push toxins from your body. Honestly, one of the greatest secrets to having beautiful skin has always been drinking lots of water. It doesn't look like that secret is changing anytime soon. Get in your 8 glasses of water per day for healthy skin and organs.

3. Move Your Body. Beat Toxins and Stress

Working out or doing consistent physical activity helps eliminate the toxins in your skin by increasing your blood flow. The activity also helps lower stress, which is another cause of acne breakouts. Another benefit of working out is that it offers you a good nights rest. When you get a good sleep, the lowered risk for skin wrinkles is quite nice as well.

4. Exfoliation Is Very Natural

Your key to removing dead skin cells from your pores is through exfoliation. The last thing you want is a buildup of dead cells clogging your pores. A natural way to exfoliate is by dry brushing with a dry brush. Choose one with soft bristles so that you don't irritate your skin. Start brushing in circular motions to help the circulation in your skin. Dry brushing is a technique used mainly for the body because your face is too sensitive. This process not only keeps your skin smooth, but it also is known for eliminating cellulite (another skincare enemy) when used consistently.

You now see how natural skincare is not just about a green product or homemade recipe. Or, only using items with beeswax. It's really about helping your skin take care of itself from the inside out. In the long run, your entire being benefits from the small habits you change in your daily life and not just your skin.
